Things They Said Today

Caleb:

During post-nap cuddle time:

"God made the trees...and the people...and the flowers...and the moon...and the stars...and the bathrooms...and the potties."

"There's a spider in the bathroom.  I go in there and he crawls on my leg and says hi to me and then he gives me a hug and I swat him and 'splat!'.  (In reference to our new infestation of brown recluse spiders...one crawled across my face yesterday as I was waking up.  Pest control came today...thank goodness!)

Noah:

"Hi, hi, hi, hi!"  (He can't ever say it just once)

"Bye-buh"

"Hot!"

What a blessing these boys are!  I am cherishing every moment and every word...

And yes, it looks a bit like Caleb has a "choke hold" on Noah.  But it's all in brotherly love!  :)

Accident Prone

Our boys are like walking-disasters-waiting-to-happen.  Just in the last week...
  • Noah chipped his tooth.  I have NO IDEA how...I was just changing his diaper one night, looked down and he smiled at me and I noticed he had a chunk missing out of his front top tooth!

  • Caleb swallowed the entire contents of a .5 fl.oz bottle of Infant Advil.  It had already been opened, so we weren't entirely sure how much he actually got.  A call to Poison Control told us that even if he had swallowed a full bottle, he would still be fine.  All medications are now stored safely in a cabinet out of reach and we are in search of a locking medicine cabinet.  Apparently "baby proof" bottles are not "Caleb proof".
  • Noah fell down a half-flight of stairs (thankfully the carpeted half).  I thought I shut the baby gate when I woke him up Tuesday morning.  I changed his diaper then put him down to strip the sheets off his bed (since Tuesday is the boy's laundry day).  The next thing I heard was a "thump, thump, thump."  My heart just about stopped beating for a minute or two!
I'm officially feeling like a very irresponsible and negligent mother!  :(

Veggie Tales Nightmares

Apparently 3-years old is the age for nightmares.  We awoke at 2:30 early Monday morning to a little person crawling up to sleep with us.  This is the first time this has ever happened!  Even though a big part of me wanted to let him just sleep with us, the more practical part of me knew that it would be a daily battle if we gave in this once.

Strangely enough, the "nightmares" had to do with a piano falling on him.

And giant pickles hiding behind his bookshelf.

I guess even the most sheltered children still have nightmares!

For Daddy

Kevin...these pictures are for you.

We're pent up in the house with TONS of snowing coming down and it's way too cold to play in it.  It's so bad I couldn't even get my Sonic fix *sigh*.

But I did take a few pictures of the sweet boys.  One child was being more cooperative than the other...I'll give you one guess who that might be!  Enjoy!  We love you!
